Blasted Mechanism - Blasted Generation

1 year. I think there are few bands around with this approach to image and communication. After 18 years of existence, Blasted Mechanism released their eighth studio album. For each album (generation), the band build a completely new image and concept that cross along their costumes, masks, album design and communication.

I was asked to visualize concepts, design the costumes and helmets which were beautifully “engineered” and crafted by Nixfuste and Sofia Antunes, and finally i was also asked to design the cd and the print materials for the album release.

The theme for the album and the band’s approach focuses this time on the (re)evolution of human thought and action, creating new paradigms, setting aside many of which currently exist because they are out of time and proved useless. There’s a new generation…

Yesterday i was signing books (along with the co-authors), at the launch of the collection “Na cozinha das canções”. The space was tight and it was crowded, but we were able to get the job done :).

Comics online

The site “Literatura gráfica” (graphic literature) is already online. It compiles several years of publications that had the editorial touch of Alvaro Aspera. This is a place where graphics and words walk side by side. You can see some my early comics there in “Fazedores de Letras” and “Textos e Pretextos.” Portuguese and french site is already online. English version soon to come. Take a look around.
